The apéritif that needs one bottle and two minutes

Friday evening, the first glass before dinner starts. A ginger cava is built the way a good apéritif should be: almost nothing in it, and better for it. A splash of Gem Juice Mint goes into a chilled flute, topped with cold cava. The ginger comes through first, sharp and clean, then settles in under the bubbles. One small mint leaf on top, and that's the whole drink.

Why ginger cava works

Gem Juice Mint is built for exactly this kind of mixing. The fresh ginger carries real heat and the mint keeps it light. A little goes a long way: the same splash that disappears in a tall glass of sparkling water stands up clearly against cava. No muddling, no syrup, no cutting board.

It also means the bottle already open in the fridge does double duty: a splash in sparkling water on a Tuesday, a splash in cava on a Friday. Keep the cava properly cold and this one takes two minutes from first pour to first sip.

What you need

  • Gem Juice Mint
  • Cold cava
  • One small fresh mint leaf

How to make it

  1. Chill a flute in the freezer for a few minutes, or fill it with ice water while the cava chills.
  2. Pour 2 cl of Gem Juice Mint into the flute, a splash.
  3. Top up slowly with cold cava, letting it settle before adding more.
  4. Finish with one small fresh mint leaf on top.

Tip: Pour the Gem Juice Mint in first and the cava after. It mixes cleaner than pouring the other way around, and the colour stays even from the first sip to the last.

Made with Gem Juice Mint. No added sugars, no preservatives, produced in Belgium.
